You're beautiful but so am I!

Waking up late on a Sunday morning around 11'o clock (actually call it afternoon according to your parents), as I sit on the sofa reading the articles in the Sunday Magazine. I ask my mom about today's breakfast. I hear a strident voice from the bedroom about "how unsuccessful I will become in the future, the seriousness that I lack , my attitude problem that I will face". My inner feeling after I hear all these lectures in the morning be like "I wish I had slept a bit more instead of listening to this Bhagavath Gita!" As I sit for lunch, parents start talking about the neighbour's daughter 10/10 GPA, colleague's son for cracking JEE All India 10th rank, my relatives children getting placed in top MNC's. Wow! I prove myself "USELESS" in front of my parents again .... Yayyy!!  I always used to ask this question to myself because I don't get the logic , "Why do most of the parents compare other children with their child...

Expectations

Expectations – Guess this word bothers us a lot in our lives. Expectations on results, on our lives and on others. Especially the last one worries us. The higher you expect on anything it leads to nothing but disappointment. You may say, one needs to have a hope in life. Yes, we need hope for something but there is a thin line between an expectation and a hope. Hope is a wish, it is different from expectation. Hope is flexible, we wish for the best. We know it can go wrong and we are ready to accept it while hoping for best. There is more success rate to hope than expectation because expectations usually fails a lot.         Hope is love where expectations are rigid, we tend to hold on to them. Problems were never the issue, your expectations to it were. You assumed something to happen and it didn’t. You crippled a lot because you had high expectations. That’s why they say “Expect the worst and hope for the best.” It means don’t lose hope till the last mom...

Oops, I am sorry!

We all have the habit of saying sorry frequently, in unnecessary situations, right? We usually say    “I am sorry; I am late for the class”. “I am sorry, May I ask a question?”, “I am sorry, May  I know  who you are?” …and so on. We have been taught since childhood to say sorry and it has become a tradition to say it even in redundant situations .  There is a great saying, "Never apologize for showing your feelings. When you do, you are apologizing for the truth."  The point is “Is your sorry sincere and genuine?” Think about it! We sometimes shower upon the smallest things in the world and leave behind the big ones.  When was the last time you apologized and you actually meant it?                                                 At a point of time, everyone in their lives, fought  with their parents, had d...

What's the Rush?

We are seeing a lot of changes around us, be it technology, environment and many more. However, there has been a change in the human’s behaviour also. As days are passing, we are becoming more restless and impatient. We are slowly losing the power of waiting, listening and enjoying little things. It can be due to many factors. We rush in the last moment to get out and get stuck in traffic. We get so restless in few seconds and start honking all the way just to move an “inch” forward. Sometimes we create a big scene if the WI-FI slows down or the network doesn’t work properly. The technology has made everything easy and flexible. It gives us results in few seconds, makes transactions faster and speeds up our work. Today, If we had to stand in line to get some work done which takes a bit more longer, we get impatient and start contending against the system. Despite the age, no one is willing to wait for extra few minutes to get their work done.        ...

Women's Day

Image
To all the women out there, a day dedicated to us to celebrate our achievements and how hard it is to be a woman. We know that we are proud every single moment of what we are today. Thanks for inspiring me and teaching me that speaking out is okay and giving priority to our dreams before anything is not wrong. Thanks for teaching me I wasn’t born to fit in, I was born to stand out, to be strong, be independent and to take bold decisions in life. Today, when I look at the newspaper I find women in diverse fields, in politics, sports, movies, arts, IT and many more. Thanks for defining that we were born to fight for the purpose of our lives and life is a mess and we got to find our way through it.                                                         Thanks for teaching me to put my head up and smile on...
