Expectations

Expectations – Guess this word bothers us a lot in our lives. Expectations on results, on our lives and on others. Especially the last one worries us. The higher you expect on anything it leads to nothing but disappointment. You may say, one needs to have a hope in life. Yes, we need hope for something but there is a thin line between an expectation and a hope. Hope is a wish, it is different from expectation. Hope is flexible, we wish for the best. We know it can go wrong and we are ready to accept it while hoping for best. There is more success rate to hope than expectation because expectations usually fails a lot.

Hope is love where expectations are rigid, we tend to hold on to them. Problems were never the issue, your expectations to it were. You assumed something to happen and it didn’t. You crippled a lot because you had high expectations. That’s why they say “Expect the worst and hope for the best.” It means don’t lose hope till the last moment but don’t be clingy either.

We also have high expectations on others. To be the way we want. Some people run fast in life and expect others to do the same and when they don’t, we get upset. Remember no one’s gonna live your life. Everyone has their own pace and place . There is a saying “Don’t blame other for disappointing. Blame yourself for high expectations”. Don’t be upset when they are not loving you back nor replying to your texts or getting the things done on time nor being there when you needed. Just because you invested your money, time or love there isn’t a rule they should reciprocate the same. As Monica said, “Welcome to the real world, it sucks! You’re gonna love it.” Whenever you are giving yourself away, don’t expect it in return. Instead hold your feelings back, it's gonna help you a lot. Life isn’t always a return on investment policy, it’s like a cancellation refund you don’t get back full but still you are gonna get something out of it. Let your hope not hurt you but help you to become a better person.

                                                                                                                                               Sushmitha
