Be Kind to your Mind!

As we are in the Mental Health Awareness month, it is really important to take care of ourselves both physically and mentally. Mental health depends on many factors such as handling situations, family imbalance, peer-competition, societal pressure, trust issues and etc.

Research says the people in our lives and around us impact on our behaviour also. We meet a lot of people with different personalities. Some makes us happy, sad, angry while some make us feel guilty for what we are by pointing out flaws. Your tribe decides your vibe. So, who are your tribe? Let’s see the common types of people we come across in our lives.

The Socializer a.k.a Extrovert – these people always take initiatives, makes friends easily, always ready to help others and are party poopers. They are optimistic but little dominant in nature. These try to cheer you up when you are low. The Home Alone a.k.a Introvert – these people have very few friends as they believe in the concept of quality more than quantity. They are shy, submissive and enjoy spending time with themselves rather than with others. They usually have an inner circle which they open up to. The combination of an introvert and an extrovert is the best pair as their strengths and weaknesses can be balanced.

The Gravitational force – these people always point out flaws and bring you down no matter what. They are usually jealous about your growth or happiness so they tend to pull you down with negative vibes. The Eavesdropper and the Gossiper – these two are stronger than blood relations. They are always judgy, interested in other people’s lives and are insecure about themselves. The ones who are inferior tends to frame others below them to satisfy themselves.

The Kadi-Pattha – The kadi pattha is used in cooking for good smell and taste but put away while eating. Similarly, people use you when they need your help and once it’s done you are no more needed in their lives. There are a lot of selfish people around us. So, don’t be anyone’s kadi pattha. The Showoff – these people always maintain an attitude, belittle others, show off their status and tends to have less friends and usually not genuine in nature.

The YOLO (You Live Only Once) – these live in the moment, super chilled, risk-takers and are sarcastic in nature. They usually fear to take up responsibility due to free spirited nature and crack jokes in serious times. The Nail-biter – these are always conscientious, tensed, indecisive and regrets frequently. They need to have a YOLO friend to add drama in their lives to calm down and chill. YOLO needs a nail-biter to take life seriously at times.

The Maleficent – these people always hold on to grudges, don’t forget or forgive and lead a negative life.  They become psychotic due to past experiences and try to take vengeance to satisfy their egos. The Altruist – these people are happy, kind and spread positive vibes. They uplift others and forgive everyone. They take opportunity to spread joy, help others instead of hatred.

We see these type of people a lot around us. Sometimes, we trust the wrong ones, make wrong choices and end up getting hurt. Some people might bring you down, some might support by your side, some might use you for selfish needs and leave you stranded, some might hold you tight. Not everyone likes you, you are always bad in someone else’s story. Relationships are meant to be happy, loyal, sharing and being there for each other not toxic and jealous. Choose your set of people to create and be part of a happy story. Geet told us long back to flush out the toxic people out of our lives. You don’t need to worry about being you, you don’t need to have fake conversation to impress others and it’s okay to say no when you are not comfortable. Don’t let someone else control your state of mind and happiness. Start by removing one toxic person from your contact and see the difference. The result is more happiness, more openness and less jealousy. Self-care is how you take your power back. More power to you...

                                                                                                                                                 Sushmitha
